Question
I am a System Administrator. Why does my role keep reverting to Teacher overnight?
Answer
Organizations provisioning users via Auto-Import or an SIS integration should make all role changes directly in the SIS or import file, not in Schoology. These provisioning methods overwrite any changes made to users directly in Schoology.
Depending on your SIS integration, the System Administrator role may or may not be available for mapping from your SIS:
SIS | Syncs System Admin Role | Does not sync System Admin Role |
The default SIS app does not support the System Admin role. As a workaround, contact your Schoology representative about PowerSchool custom roles. |

As a workaround for SISes that do not map the System Admin role, we recommend creating a separate account directly in Schoology for System Admin duties. You can then Link Accounts so that both accounts can be managed from one login. The Teacher account will continue to be updated via the scheduled sync with your SIS data, while the System Admin account will not be affected by the sync.
